The Posting

At Much Better Adventures, we exist to make it easier for people to get outside, challenge themselves, and come back changed. We're a fully remote, mission-driven B-Corp, building the global leader in positive impact outdoor adventure travel. As a Product & Engineering team, we are small enough that what you ship shows up in the numbers pretty quickly, and we are looking for two Product Engineers to join our Activate and Engagement squads.

About the role / What we are looking for

You'll get problems rather than tickets (such as "people browse wishlists but don't opt in") and take them from end to end, figuring out what's going on, writing the spec, breaking it into small PRs, shipping it, and verifying the impact. You'll spend time collaborating with people across content, SEO, CRM, Ops, and Customer Experience, treating production as your own problem.

Requirements

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years building product as a full-stack engineer, ideally in a small team where you owned the outcome.
  • An AI-first way of working, with clear, well-reasoned views on where AI adds real value and where it doesn’t. Hands-on experience building and orchestrating agentic workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with React/TypeScript and a Python web framework (Django ideally).
  • Strong software architecture skills: you design systems that are simple, scalable and maintainable, make sensible trade-offs, and leave codebases better than you found them.
  • An eye for UI, with the ability to turn a Figma design into clean, responsive, mobile-first components.
  • The capability to take a fuzzy problem, write it up clearly, and split it into small executable tasks independently.
  • Experience with product experiments (understanding what makes a result readable, why tracking matters, and cleaning up afterwards).
  • Positive, flexible, proactive and collaborative working style

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with Contentful or other headless CMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with technical SEO, CRM/CDP data (HubSpot, Hightouch), or recommendations and personalisation.
  • Background in travel or e-commerce checkout flows.
  • A genuine love for the outdoors, travel and/or sustainability and conservation.

Benefits

  • Salary: £65,000 – £80,000 (dependent on experience)
  • 38 days holiday per year (including public holidays)
  • Competitive package based on your experience and UK benchmarks
  • Fully remote and flexible working
  • A free MBA trip in your first year
  • 30% employee discount + 15% friends & family discount on trips
  • Generous 8% matched pension scheme (UK only)
  • Fully funded private medical insurance with AXA
  • Budget for home office setup or co-working space
  • 16 weeks fully paid parental leave (primary caregiver) or 4 weeks (secondary caregiver)
  • Regular team meetups and adventures
