We are seeking a highly qualified, dedicated, and motivated individual to join our administrative team as Assistant Director (Student Admissions and Student Affairs). Working closely with the Head of Administration and the School's senior management team, the successful candidate will lead the planning and operationalization of the School's student recruitment and admissions, as well as student advising and wellness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the development and implementation of student admissions and student affairs policies, criteria, and procedures for the four-year graduate-entry MBBS program, ensuring alignment with University policies and compliance with local accreditation and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the planning and operation of the end-to-end admissions process, including student recruitment events and marketing campaigns, website and publication updates, application system management, application processing and document verification, interview coordination, admission offers, enrolment, and inquiries.
  • Proactively oversee, coordinate, and monitor the full spectrum of the School's student affairs activities, including student advising, development, and well-being, in alignment with University practices.
  • Oversee support for relevant committees, meetings, and interview panels, including planning, scheduling, and the preparation of documents and reference materials.
  • Draft proposals, papers, reports, presentations, and other materials to advance institutional planning and goals, as required.
  • Engage with colleagues across the School of Medicine and the University, and with external stakeholders as appropriate, to advance the planning, implementation, and operationalization of key aspects of the School, as well as ad hoc events and projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and databases to ensure efficient information retrieval and compliance with institutional policies, and to support analysis and monitoring for continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and manage team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Entry Requirements

  • A recognized bachelor's degree; a relevant higher degree and/or professional qualification(s) will be highly advantageous.
  • A minimum of 12 years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a sizeable organization or tertiary institution in the education sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the clinical and biomedical education and research landscape, and strong knowledge and experience of best practices in tertiary-level student recruitment, admissions, and student affairs, including student information systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, planning, and organizational skills, with a strong sense of priorities and responsibility.
  • Sound judgment and strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the initiative to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams across academic departments.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Good IT and computer application skills.

Work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, may occasionally be required.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract. Renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
