Associate Attorney, Civil Litigation

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a collaborative legal team handling civil litigation matters from case initiation through settlement or trial. You will independently manage a caseload and work closely with colleagues and paralegal support in an in-person practice.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Manage civil litigation cases from intake through resolution, including employment law, school law, and general civil matters.
• Draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, and take and defend depositions of parties, experts, and other witnesses.
• Attend hearings and handle bench and jury trials.
• Meet with clients to develop litigation strategy and negotiate and finalize settlements.
• Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy while maintaining ownership of your cases.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 6 years of civil litigation experience, including motion practice, discovery, and independent caseload management.
• Strong legal writing and experience drafting and arguing motions through summary judgment.
• Deposition experience, including taking and defending depositions.
• Trial experience as first or second chair, or demonstrated readiness to take cases to trial.
• Experience in employment law, school law, insurance defense, or general civil litigation.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active Washington State Bar membership in good standing, or ability to obtain membership.
• Self-directed approach, sound professional judgment, and a stable employment history or clear explanations for shorter tenures.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary: $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
