Head of Finance - SpecTec Shipping

Job Summary:

The purpose of the role is to act as a strong and empathetic Leader to the Finance team, and valued Business Partner to the SpecTec Management Team, offering insight and facilitating strong, evidence-based decision-making to enable the business to meet its growth and profitability objectives.

In the role of Head of Finance, you will:

Business partner with the SpecTec Shipping Management team, including:

• Overseeing the reporting of financial performance against targets
• Providing Finance Business Partnering to the CEO and Management Team, subject matter expertise and strategic advice to drive improvements in this performance
• Coordinating the contract and commercial account reviews in order to drive growth and profitability improvements
• Ensuring the alignment of the VBU’s financial targets to the Group’s financial targets
• Coordinating / overseeing the Quarterly Business Review process
• Contributing to the development of the SpecTec Shipping Strategic Plan, modelling the impact of Strategy in the short, medium and long-term and facilitating course corrections where necessary

Oversee the SpecTec Shipping Finance Team, including:

• Providing support, direction, guidance and mentorship to direct reports and the wider Finance team within the SpecTec Shipping Finance Team
• Providing subject matter expertise to the Finance Team

Maintain Financial control for the SpecTec Shipping business through:

• Ensure statutory and tax compliance requirements are met for all legal entities within SpecTec Shipping
• Oversee Financial risk management, including Balance Sheet integrity for all entities and ensuring all material risks and opportunities are visible to the VBU and Group Leadership
• Oversee the external audit process for all entities, ensuring all accounts filed on-time with unqualified opinions
• Oversee / facilitate internal audit and drive improvements and compliance in-line with feedback received

Drive Commercial awareness and facilitate strong decision-making through:

• Creating and maintaining robust Finance models for Sales opportunities, business forecasting and ad-hoc business cases as required
• Supporting and challenging stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
• Providing training to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
