About AllSci

AllSci is an AI-native platform designed for discovering, exploring, and publishing scientific knowledge. We are seeking a tech-savvy, strategic Senior Marketing Specialist to drive the growth and visibility of AllSci within the scientific and academic community.

This role will own the planning and execution of AllSci's marketing and communications initiatives, including content strategy, social media, campaign management, and outreach to the academic and scientific publishing community. The ideal candidate has direct experience working within an academic journal, scholarly publishing house, or research communications environment, a track record of campaigns that delivered measurable results, and fluency using AI tools to scale content production and marketing workflows.

We're looking for a self-directed marketer who can operate independently in a fast-paced startup environment, understands the norms and language of academic/scientific publishing, and brings both strategic judgment and hands-on execution to grow AllSci's audience and reach.

RESPONSIBILITIES

AI-Driven & Technical Marketing

  • Use AI-powered content tools to draft, edit, and optimize marketing copy, newsletters, and social posts, and establish AI-assisted workflows and quality standards for content production
  • Design, implement, and optimize marketing automation workflows, including email nurture sequences, lead scoring, and audience segmentation
  • Define marketing KPIs and own performance reporting, using analytics and dashboard tools to turn results into recommendations
  • Lead SEO strategy for the website and content, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and performance tracking

Content & Campaign Marketing

  • Develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns aligned to AllSci's growth objectives, from concept through measurement
  • Shape content strategy, and write, edit, and distribute emails, newsletters, articles, blog posts, and social media content
  • Own AllSci's website, social media accounts, and other owned distribution channels
  • Build and manage content calendars and campaign timelines across channels, coordinating with product, engineering, and leadership
  • Analyze distribution, engagement, and campaign performance, and present insights and recommendations to leadership

Branding & Community Engagement

  • Lead outreach to and build partnerships with the academic and scientific publishing community, including researchers, journals, scholarly societies, and industry contacts
  • Plan and manage AllSci's presence at academic and industry conferences and events, including budgets and ROI tracking
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and academic partners
  • Manage vendors, freelancers, and agencies, including scoping work and overseeing deliverables

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of marketing, communications, or related experience, ideally within an academic journal, scholarly publishing house, or scientific/research organization
  • Demonstrated experience using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, AI writing/design assistants) to scale content creation and improve marketing efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with a proven ability to translate scientific/academic concepts into engaging content
  • Hands-on experience managing social media channels and content management systems (CMS)
  • Proficiency with marketing automation and analytics platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Google Analytics)
  • Track record of independently planning and running multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail
  • Background in scientific publishing, research communication, or academia strongly preferred
  • Available to work full time in person at the North Bethesda office
