About Braid Robotics

Braid is on a mission to make AI learn as fast as humans. We build smart models that learn from very little data, and are putting them to work in unstructured environments where data is scarce.

The opportunity

We are pushing the frontier of what can be automated when data is limited and the environment unpredictable. Come partner with our amazing ML engineers to automate tasks across robot embodiments and in unstructured environments!

Bring your skills across robotics disciplines and algorithms, be it perception, controls, manipulation, planning, mapping and localization, behvioral orchestration, to complement and enable our ML models. Your opportunity will be to shrewdly balance the right robotics algorithms with ML models to solve problems at scale.

Who you are

You dreamed of robots when you were young and are amazed at the opportunity of our time to make these dreams come true.

You contributed to this revolution by implementing algorithms in deployed robotics systems.

You embrace the complexity of integrated systems and have trained yourself at debugging issues across the robotics software stack.

You do not hesitate to go on the field to see robots in action and improve their performance in real life.

You are undaunted by startup life and are eager to collaborate in a small, high-impact team.

You can't wait to learn more about AI and are excited to learn from the best in the field. And get paid doing so!

What you'll do

  • Lead the automation of tasks
  • Implement robotics algorithms across controls, perception, planning, and locomotion
  • Test, validate, and optimize robotic systems for deployment in real-world industrial environments
  • Collaborate with ML engineers to evaluate and improve robot performance
  • Contribute to system architecture, software quality, and engineering best practices

Preferred qualifications

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics or related field
  • 4+ years deploying robot software
  • Exposure to all robotics algorithms and mastery of a few
  • Python, C++, ROS 2.0
  • Nice to have: deployed ML policies in robots

Why join Braid?

If you're early in your career or unfamiliar with AI, you will learn tremendously about developing AI for robotics and building a robotics business. If you are a battle-hardened operator, help us accelerate the liberation of humanity from menial labor.
