Location: Jackson, MI area (onsite)
Type: Temp-to-perm · Full time · 2nd shift
A plastics materials manufacturer near Jackson is hiring experienced production operators for second shift. The plant runs around the clock and wants people who already know blending and extrusion. The role starts as a temp position with a path to permanent.
What you'll do
- Set up and run blending and extrusion equipment by the plant's safety and operating procedures
- Weigh ingredients to recipe and keep production moving safely
- Troubleshoot basic process and machine issues, and bring in your supervisor when needed
- Inspect material against quality standards and pull lab samples
- Complete production logs and system entries
- Clean machines, keep your area tidy and follow ISO and EHS rules with PPE on
What you bring
- 1+ year in blending, mixing, extrusion, or plastics or chemical manufacturing
- Able to set up and run production machines and handle basic troubleshooting
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Able to lift 55 lbs regularly; comfortable in a chemical plant
- Reliable transportation and available for 2nd shift
- High school diploma or GED
