The Posting

About the company

Our client is a law firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of a full docket of complex defense-side litigation, from discovery and expert work through motion practice and court appearances. The role includes client communication with insurers, advising on related regulatory questions, and working alongside partners, with a supported route toward partnership.

What you'll do

  • Run a full caseload of complex professional liability defense matters with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct depositions, engage and coordinate expert witnesses, and appear in court.
  • Provide guidance on related healthcare regulatory questions such as licensure and risk.
  • Prepare motions and keep insurance clients informed throughout each matter.
  • Direct every stage of litigation from intake through resolution.
  • Partner with colleagues across the firm and build strong working relationships.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Roughly 3 to 5 years of litigation experience, with some flexibility for an outstanding candidate.
  • A career focused mainly on defending medical professional liability claims.
  • Proven independence in handling case files, questioning witnesses and working with experts.
  • A JD from an accredited US law school.
  • Admission to the New Hampshire bar, or eligibility to gain it through reciprocity or by taking the exam.
  • Clear, demonstrable connections to New Hampshire.
  • A collaborative style and a preference for balance in life over maximizing earnings.
  • No history of representing claimants in this area of law.

Bonus points

  • Prior experience at a law firm elsewhere in northern New England or Massachusetts.
  • Previous work on the in-house side for a healthcare provider or insurer.
  • Licensure in a neighboring New England state.
