The Posting

The End User Computing (EUC) department is dedicated to providing employees with the best possible IT experience. Whether it is laptops, desktops, mobile devices, or virtual workplaces, the team ensures that employees across the organization have the technology and services they need to work securely, efficiently, and productively.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Citrix Architect (m/f/d). In this role, you will provide the architectural foundation for a secure, resilient, and standardized Citrix platform supporting business-critical workloads. You will directly influence the platform’s transformation, operational stability, security, and future delivery model.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud, on-premises, and hybrid Citrix solutions.
  • Define the architecture of core platform components, including Citrix DaaS, Virtual Apps and Desktops, VDAs, PVS, WEM, StoreFront, Cloud Connectors, NetScaler/ADC, Delivery Controllers, FAS, profiles, images, policies, Machine Catalogs, and Delivery Groups.
  • Create and review high-level and low-level designs, architecture diagrams, technical standards, security concepts, decision papers, and migration concepts.
  • Define reusable architecture standards, patterns, and governance principles that can be applied across Helios and other Fresenius business segments.
  • Drive platform harmonization, standardization, cloud migration, license consolidation, and the retirement of legacy components.
  • Translate business, clinical, security, and operational requirements into reliable and supportable Citrix solutions, considering availability, performance, latency, data residency, sensitive-data protection, and service continuity.
  • Define identity and access requirements, including Active Directory and Entra dependencies, MFA, privileged access, service accounts, session recording, and role-based authorization.
  • Coordinate dependencies across network, cloud, hosting, identity, security, monitoring, and application teams, and provide architectural governance and technical direction to internal delivery teams and external service providers.
  • Plan and support platform implementations, pilots, migrations, testing, capacity planning, cutovers, rollback scenarios, decommissioning, business continuity, disaster recovery, and high-availability concepts.
  • Provide technical leadership for complex incidents and problems, maintain architecture and handover documentation, and contribute to capacity, license, and cost planning as the technical basis for commercial decisions.

Your qualifications:

  • Academic qualification in information technology or comparable professional experience.
  • Extensive experience with large, distributed, and business-critical Citrix environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Citrix DaaS/Cloud, Virtual Apps and Desktops, PVS, WEM, StoreFront, NetScaler/ADC, FAS, Citrix Workspace, and Azure integration.
  • Proven experience in hybrid cloud and on-premises architecture, including HLD and LLD creation, capacity planning, lifecycle management, migrations, security, and identity integration.
  • Ability to translate complex business and technical requirements into sustainable, secure, and supportable solutions.
  • Strong analytical, risk-management, and problem-solving capabilities, as well as clear, structured, and audience-appropriate communication.
  • Experience with healthcare IT, clinical applications, regulated environments, or similarly business-critical infrastructure is an advantage.
  • Fluent German skills and good English skills, both spoken and written; relevant Citrix, Microsoft Azure, ITIL, or architecture certifications are an advantage.

Why join our team:

  • A key architecture role within a business-critical technology environment.
  • The opportunity to shape the future Citrix platform and transformation roadmap.
  • Collaboration with international infrastructure, security, cloud, application, and service-management teams.
  • Work across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based delivery models.
  • A high level of technical responsibility and visibility.
