The Posting

About the company

Our client is a law firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Provide hands-on support to senior attorneys on active civil cases, from the opening of a matter through its conclusion. The work blends document-heavy case preparation, research, deadline tracking and professional client contact, with guidance from an experienced colleague.

What you'll do

  • Assist two partners with complex cases, managing court filings, discovery and overall case organization.
  • Prepare first drafts of court papers, discovery documents, subpoenas and deposition summaries, and review them for accuracy.
  • Assemble materials for trial, including binders, exhibit indexes and witness folders.
  • Coordinate the collection and production of electronic and paper documents with litigation support software.
  • Learn the firm's processes through daily collaboration with a seasoned senior paralegal.
  • Research statutes, case law and court records to back up attorney work.
  • Keep case files and calendars current so that no court deadline is missed.
  • Log billable time accurately and on a regular basis.
  • Correspond with clients in a polished and courteous way.

  • Roughly 4 or more years in a law firm setting with a broad civil litigation background.
  • A history of working directly alongside partners on live matters.
  • A paralegal certificate and a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proven ability to draft court filings, discovery documents and subpoenas.
  • Experience organizing trial materials in both digital and paper formats.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major legal research or court records service.
  • Disciplined habits around recording billable hours.
  • Confident, articulate presence in face-to-face interviews.
  • A professional and personable manner, with warmth and humor, and openness to being coached by a senior colleague.
  • Residence in the Atlanta area and enthusiasm for being in the office 4 days per week.

  • Background in employment law or employment litigation.
  • Familiarity with electronic discovery tools and federal court procedure.
