Litigate civil disputes in state and federal courts and administrative hearings, managing a varied caseload from intake through trial preparation. The role suits a stable litigator who can handle many matters at once and take on substantive responsibility early.

What you'll do

  • Manage several active cases at the same time.
  • Draft and argue pleadings, motions and writs in trial courts, appellate matters and administrative hearings.
  • Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations and case law.
  • Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel and negotiate resolutions.
  • Provide occasional support on purchase-and-sale matters.
  • Work alongside shareholders and attorneys while support staff handle administrative tasks.

  • Between two and six years working as an associate on civil lawsuits, spanning motion work, document exchange and hearing attendance.
  • A consistent work history with a record of staying at each employer for an extended period.
  • Polished brief-writing, shown by a courtroom-document sample supplied during hiring.
  • A track record juggling a heavy docket and keeping several filing dates on schedule at the same time.
  • Understanding of landlord-tenant litigation.
  • Proficiency with standard office software and legal research databases.

Bonus points

  • Background in neighboring property disputes such as zoning, agency proceedings, environmental rules or lease-based commercial conflicts.
