WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own a book of sell-side secondary transactions in private tech companies, from first contact through settlement
  • Prospect private company shareholders and early investors through high-volume phone, email, and platform outreach, driving engagement and liquidity on the EquityZen marketplace
  • Build, manage, and accurately forecast your pipeline; you'll be accountable for individual volume and revenue targets
  • Price and negotiate trades using recent secondary prints, primary rounds, and market color
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for your clients, building trust through clear, actionable market insight and positioning EquityZen as the go-to venue for private market liquidity
  • Drive execution end to end, reviewing transaction documentation and partnering with operations, legal, and compliance to resolve issues and close quickly
  • Rapidly build working expertise in transfer restrictions, ROFR processes, and SPV vs. direct structures; you'll be expected to navigate them independently early on

THE RIGHT STUFF

  • FINRA Series 7 and 63 (or 66) licenses required
  • 3+ years in a quota-carrying, client-facing role such as sell-side brokerage, secondaries, account executive or institutional/alternatives sales

  • Persuasive closer with strong phone presence, comfortable handling objections
  • Pipeline discipline and ruthless prioritization across multiple clients and live deals
  • Ability to balance relationship management with rigorous execution detail, competitive, and coachable
  • Working knowledge of private markets or alternatives (secondaries, pre-IPO equity, PE/VC, tender offers)
  • Undergraduate degree, ideally in finance, economics, or a related field

BONUS POINTS

  • Existing expertise in transfer restrictions, ROFR processes, and SPV structures
  • Existing network of private company shareholders, FAs, or institutional buyers
  • Understanding of private valuation metric
