The Posting

Emirates Investment Authority is the UAE Federal Government’s sovereign wealth fund, investing across diversified asset classes and global markets to create long-term value and support the UAE economy. Working across a broad investment portfolio, the organization is focused on safeguarding its interests through strong governance, sound oversight, and disciplined risk management.

As Compliance Manager, you will play an important role in strengthening the compliance environment around a diversified portfolio spanning passive investments in international funds and strategic assets. This role is suited to a compliance professional who brings strong judgment, a global regulatory perspective, and the ability to work across complex investment structures while supporting the organization’s long-term objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the compliance framework for a diversified investment portfolio, including passive investments in international funds and strategic assets in the UAE.
  • Ensure adherence to international best practices and applicable U.S., EU, and UAE regulations.
  • Protect the organization’s interests, mitigate compliance and investment risk exposure, and conduct rigorous due diligence on each investment opportunity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, or a related field; a Master’s degree in law, finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
  • 8+ years of experience in compliance within a sovereign wealth fund, investment company, or regulatory agency.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. and EU fund compliance regulations, AML/KYC requirements, sanctions regulations, and regulatory requirements in the Cayman Islands.
  • Familiarity with regulatory practices governing private and publicly listed assets in the UAE.
  • Ability to build and maintain compliance frameworks for portfolio companies and investment activities, and to design and maintain compliance policies, standards, procedures, and investment compliance checklists.
  • Experience conducting investment compliance due diligence, including review of investment guidelines and side letter obligations, as well as periodic compliance risk assessments and corrective actions.
  • Ability to lead incident investigations and reporting related to compliance and sanctions risks, present compliance reports, risks, and mitigation actions to senior management and board-level stakeholders, and deliver compliance training to internal teams, board members, and portfolio companies.
  • Proven ability to work closely with legal, risk, strategic assets, and investment teams on compliance matters, and to support the development and implementation of automated compliance monitoring solutions; ICA or CAMS certification is a bonus.
