Backend Software Engineer

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Engineer server-side software for a production product, taking projects from first idea to release within a flat team that has considerable autonomy. The work covers shipping new code quickly, improving existing systems and contributing to a newer product line as the group grows.

What you'll do

• Take ownership of projects from idea to launch within a team that works without specialist hand-offs.
• Create new server-side components and grow the systems supporting them as demand rises.
• Help develop a newly planned product area as the group expands.
• Collaborate in person each day with senior staff and executives, so changes reach users fast.
• Improve peer code review, developer tooling and automated build and deploy pipelines, while keeping systems dependable and responsive.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• 3 to 10 years of experience as a backend, software or senior software engineer.
• Experience at a fast-paced B2B software company, at a major cloud provider or at a large technology company.
• Undergraduate degree in computer science or engineering from a leading university.

Bonus points

• Hands-on familiarity with Python and relational databases.
• Exposure to large language model applications.
