The Posting

Monex Europe is part of the Monex Group, an international financial services group with over 2,800 employees worldwide. With offices in the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada and Singapore, we provide foreign exchange and payment solutions to businesses and institutions across the globe.

We are growing across Europe and looking for people who want to make an impact in a dynamic, international environment. At Monex, you will work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative culture that values integrity, accountability and a strong focus on our clients, with real opportunities to learn and develop your career.

About the Role

As Compliance Analyst in our Madrid office, you will play a key role in protecting the firm from financial crime and regulatory risk. You will make sure that transaction and client monitoring is completed effectively and on time, identify potential risks and escalate them in line with our internal policies.

Monex Europa S.L. is authorised by the Bank of Spain to passport its payment services across the EEA, and our Madrid office supports clients and counterparties in several European markets, including France.

Advanced English and French are therefore essential: you will review client documentation, communicate with clients, counterparties and colleagues across Madrid, Amsterdam and London, and work with information in both languages on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities: Client & transaction monitoring

  • Clear alerts in the relevant monitoring systems (real-time, ex-post and existing client name-matching)
  • Carry out ongoing reviews of existing clients and periodic KYC reviews
  • Identify potential risks and follow the escalation process set out in our AML/CFT policies

AML/CFT framework & policies

  • Support the Senior Compliance Analysts and the Head of Compliance in all areas related to AML/CFT obligations: customer due diligence, internal organisation and cooperation with authorities
  • Assist in the publication and update of policies and procedures on Anti-Money Laundering, Counter Terrorist Financing and international financial sanctions
  • Contribute to the assessment and management of the firm’s compliance risk

Compliance monitoring & regulatory support

  • Assist in the execution of the Compliance Monitoring Programme
  • Respond to information requests from internal and external auditors
  • Support the Compliance Onboarding team during peak activity periods
  • Assist on other regulatory topics when needed, such as client complaints, conflicts of interest, regulatory watch, MiFID and KYC for banks and counterparties

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in Compliance, AML/KYC or internal/external audit within the financial services industry
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law or a related field
  • Knowledge of AML/CFT regulation and sanctions frameworks
  • Experience with AML/CFT monitoring software and CRM systems; strong MS Office skills
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Integrity, discretion and the ability to build respectful relationships across the business
  • Advanced English and French (written and spoken)
  • Spanish or another European language is a plus

If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
