The Posting

About the company

Our client is a technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Keep the non-technical side of a small, hands-on team running so that technical staff are never delayed by logistics. The work spans purchasing, inventory, vendor relationships, back-office and people administration, executive support, IT setup and investor materials, with the person expected to notice and fix gaps unprompted.

What you'll do

  • Order equipment and supplies, manage vendors, and oversee shipping, receiving and inventory tracking.
  • Handle returns and warranty claims when hardware fails.
  • Manage bookkeeping, accounting, insurance and legal paperwork with outside advisors.
  • Run office management and keep day-to-day administration in order.
  • Run recruiting from start to finish, including scheduling and onboarding non-technical hires.
  • Coordinate work authorization cases with outside immigration counsel.
  • Manage the leader's calendar, travel and errands.
  • Set up and test computing hardware, manage devices and accounts, and maintain security practices.
  • Maintain the shared documents used with funders, draft presentation content, and handle correspondence after investor meetings.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Prior experience in a business operations role at a fledgling company, a device maker or a scientific institution.
  • Experience managing recruiting processes or vendor relationships from start to finish.
  • Financial operations experience covering accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and procurement.
  • Enough technical literacy to follow conversations with engineers about the work.
  • Comfort with hardware and general technical tools.
  • Takes initiative to finish open items unprompted and keeps written and spoken updates concise.
  • Ability to take on ambiguous tasks and carry them through correctly without close supervision.
  • Willingness to take on unglamorous, detail-heavy work.
  • A valid driver's license, as some of the work involves driving.

Bonus points

  • A STEM or finance or business undergraduate degree.
  • Sysadmin, infrastructure or security experience.
  • Fundraising or investor relations experience.
