The Posting

About the company

Our client is a manufacturing company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Take ownership of engineering projects on a production floor, blending software and hardware know-how to keep operations running smoothly. You will judge what is worth building as priorities change and deliver practical tools with a measurable effect on the business.

What you'll do

  • Lead production-facing projects from idea through delivery, choosing the right mix of software and hardware.
  • Develop and refine internal systems that support day-to-day plant operations, including pricing, planning, automation and reporting.
  • Decide what to build and what to drop as priorities move quickly.
  • Learn the business thoroughly during your first month.
  • Deliver polished, easy-to-use tools within about three months.
  • Demonstrate measurable gains in revenue, speed, retention and overall efficiency by around six months.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • 2 to 5 years of experience, ideally in early-stage, small-team or growing-product settings rather than a long corporate career.
  • Hands-on experience creating technology that has to work alongside physical equipment and real production limits.
  • A versatile, broad-skilled engineer who picks whichever technical route gets results.
  • Confidence owning complete systems and projects independently.
  • Fluency with modern AI tools to speed up your work.
  • Strong self-direction and a focus on results.
  • A collaborative, team-first attitude, openness to feedback and positive energy.
  • Readiness for a demanding, in-person working pace.

Bonus points

  • Hardware background, such as vision or sensor work.
  • Experience with student engineering teams, rocketry or engineering competitions.
  • Experience at an equipment manufacturer or a modern digital manufacturing business.

Benefits

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: USD 120,000 to 200,000 per year
  • Health, dental and vision coverage

Location and work model

  • Detroit, MI, United States
  • Los Angeles, CA, United States
