The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Lead hands-on implementation of software solutions for public sector customers, combining production coding with direct customer engagement and cross-team coordination. The role suits an early-career engineer who enjoys translating technical ideas for non-technical audiences.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary implementation lead for government customers, onboarding their content into the platform.
• Manage configuration and service orchestration securely within a regulated government cloud environment.
• Build customer-requested features across front-end and backend, including UI changes, data tables and file handling.
• Host customer meetings and walk senior stakeholders through AI concepts in accessible terms.
• Balance your week across development work, customer engagement and internal coordination, with development taking the largest share.
• Travel to customer sites in the Washington, DC area, with travel costs covered.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• 1 to 3 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related STEM field.
• Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript, with comfort spending about half the time on focused coding.
• Experience shipping LLM or agent-based systems in production.
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud AI platform such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience deploying software in government or regulated environments.
• Clear communication and ease talking with customers.
• Ability to work on-site five days a week.

• Base salary: USD 130,000 to 170,000 per year
