The Posting

About the company

Our client is a space technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the electrical power design for a spacecraft, covering generation, conditioning, distribution and battery systems, and take high-voltage hardware from early prototype through qualification and integration testing. The role suits an experienced space electrical engineer who can work independently on hands-on hardware problems.

What you'll do

  • Own the electrical power subsystem for a spacecraft, spanning power generation, conditioning, distribution and batteries.
  • Design high-voltage power distribution hardware that performs reliably in vacuum, accounting for charging, plasma and electrical breakdown effects.
  • Monitor battery health for high-voltage packs and keep electrical components working together across the vehicle.
  • Move hardware from prototype to flight using breadboarding, schematic capture, PCB layout, bench testing and debugging.
  • Lead electrical hardware through assembly, integration, testing and environmental qualification.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Several years of electrical engineering experience in the space industry.
  • Hands-on experience with spacecraft power systems, including solar arrays, power control units, battery management and high-voltage distribution.
  • Background in advancing electronics through structured design reviews and controlled-change qualification programs.
  • Prior work developing or validating high-voltage power circuitry for orbital conditions, covering vacuum breakdown, corona discharge and insulation.
  • Familiarity with space environment design standards such as charging, radiation, thermal-vacuum testing and EMI/EMC.
  • Experience with spacecraft electrical power system design and power management and distribution architecture.
  • U.S. citizen or green card holder.

Bonus points

  • Prior involvement with small spacecraft prototypes or technology demonstrators.

Benefits

Compensation and benefits

  • Base salary: USD 130,000 to 150,000 per year
