Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips

Working for tomorrow today.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.

With your experience and passion for developing complex systems from a holistic perspective, you will support the interdisciplinary development team in creating the next generation photomask systems.

You will work conceptually and in the laboratory (clean room) and plan, coordinate, and carry out your development activities independently.

In your role, you will analyze requirements across product lines and derive the development of concepts and their technological advancement.

  • Definition of lifecycle requirements regarding cleanliness in product development.
  • Definition of development measures and active risk management in the project.
  • Analysis of the process chain to implement improvements in terms of quality, process stability, and cost.
  • Elimination of acute process disturbances.
  • Introduction of new operating and auxiliary materials in coordination with development.
  • Definition and execution of visual and quantitative surface analyses for contamination determination and root-cause analysis in close collaboration with Manufacturing and Development.

Your Profile

  • A successfully completed university degree in a natural science field.
  • Relevant practical experience in manufacturing, cleaning, and cleanliness qualification, ideally with prior responsibility for cleanrooms; fundamental knowledge in: aqueous and physical cleaning processes, vacuum technology, particle measurement, chemical analysis methods, statistical design of experiments and analysis.
  • Process optimization (e.g., Six Sigma) and root-cause analysis (e.g., 8D, FMEA).
  • Strong teamwork skills and a high degree of initiative.
  • Independent, goal-oriented, and structured way of working with a high degree of innovation.
