Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join a growing trust and estate litigation practice at a California law firm as a senior attorney ready to take on a leadership role. You will lead complex matters, develop client relationships, and help shape the group's direction while mentoring its attorneys.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Drive case strategy in will and trust contests, fiduciary duty disputes, accounting matters, surcharge actions, and elder abuse cases.
• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families in litigation.
• Build and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact.
• Contribute to business development and the continued growth of the practice.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop associates through delegation, feedback, and guidance.
• Help shape the practice group's direction and collegial culture.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with active litigation work in this area.
• Strong experience leading strategy in complex trust, probate, fiduciary duty, or elder abuse matters.
• Active California State Bar membership in good standing and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys and readiness to help build a practice group.
• Established connections in the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community are valued; a book of business is not required.
• Background focused on litigation rather than transactional estate planning or wealth and financial planning.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Base salary range: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

LOCATION

Hybrid, with the primary location in San Mateo, California. Pleasanton and San Jose offices are also available.
