Ready to join a mission that matters? The future of cybersecurity starts with you.

About the Role:

CrowdStrike is hiring an Engineer III to join the Kubernetes Platform team supporting the continued global expansion of the Falcon platform. You will be a key member of our India-based coverage for the Kubernetes environments that run CrowdStrike services across our own data centers and public clouds. We're looking for a highly technical, hands-on engineer with solid Kubernetes operating experience who can independently own platform support and improvement work, handle production incidents during India hours, and help grow less experienced engineers on the team.

What You'll Do:

  • Independently operate and support large-scale Kubernetes clusters across custom data centers and public clouds (AWS, GCP, OCI), owning their availability, health, and lifecycle
  • Serve as a primary responder for platform incidents during India hours — diagnosing complex node, networking, DNS, storage, and control-plane issues, driving them to resolution, and handing off cleanly across time zones
  • Plan and execute cluster upgrades, add-on rollouts, and capacity changes end to end, including risk assessment, testing, and rollback planning
  • Improve the reliability of the platform: identify recurring issues and technical debt, propose fixes, and see them through
  • Design, build, and improve monitoring, alerting, and dashboards with Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana so problems are caught before customers notice
  • Develop automation and tooling in Go to eliminate toil, and contribute to Kubernetes controllers and operators used by the team
  • Evaluate open-source tools and Kubernetes add-ons and help integrate them into existing workflows
  • Use AI technologies to streamline operational workflows, accelerate troubleshooting, and improve decision-making
  • Write design docs, runbooks, and post-incident reviews that are clear to engineers, on-call responders, and stakeholders
  • Mentor Engineer I and II team members through pairing, code review, and design review, and take part in interviewing new team members

What You'll Need:

  • 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, systems, or platform engineering, including 3+ years operating production Kubernetes clusters at scale
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes internals and operations: control plane (API server, etcd, scheduler), kubelet and container runtime, networking/CNI, DNS, storage, and upgrades
  • Experience with Prometheus, Thanos, Alertmanager, and Grafana
  • Proficiency in Go; Python a plus
  • Experience with large-scale, business-critical Linux environments
  • Experience operating in at least one public cloud (AWS, GCP, or OCI) and in on-premises or custom data centers
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and deployment tooling (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Helm, GitOps) and version control with git
  • Familiarity and ability to manage on-call shifts [aligned to India business hours]
  • Demonstrated experience using AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, and improve efficiency
  • Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience writing Kubernetes operators or controllers
  • Experience operating Kubernetes on bare metal
  • Experience deploying microservices
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
  • Experience mentoring or onboarding other engineers
  • Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams across time zones
  • Rock solid communication skills, verbal and written
  • A combination of confidence and independence…with the prudence to know when to ask for help from the rest of the team
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field, such as CS, CIS, or Engineering
