The Posting

Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective, and through them, build better businesses and benefit society.
Over twenty years we have established ourselves as the market leader in governance and board effectiveness, trusted by more than 80,000 directors, executives, and governance professionals globally, including across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. That trust has been earned through depth of insight, rigorous advisory work, and a track record that newer entrants simply cannot replicate.
We have invested in applied AI since 2020, well ahead of the market, and that early conviction has paid off. Our AI-powered platform and smart board advisor give us a competitive advantage that is widening, not narrowing. In 2024, K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, backed us to accelerate that position further. We are now growing fast, with a proven commercial model spanning both mid-market and enterprise, and a product suite that has become a necessary addition in high-stakes board environments.
The people joining us now will shape how we scale. We are deliberate about how we do that. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. Ambition and balance are not in competition at Board Intelligence.
If you want to work at the intersection of AI and governance, on problems that matter at the highest level, this is a strong place to be.
Our Mission
We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefitting society.

Role Overview

Board Intelligence partners with boards and executive teams of leading organisations, providing technology and advisory services that improve decision-making at the highest levels.

The Graduate Business Development Associate is a high-impact role supporting one of our leading Mid-Market or Enterprise sales professionals as they generate pipeline, progress a high volume of opportunities, and win new business. This is not a quota carrying role, it's a role to learn from the best in our business to set you up for a successful career in Sales.

You will work closely with senior members of either our Mid-Market or Enterprise sales teams. This involves shadowing and joining calls and meetings with senior stakeholders including Company Secretaries, governance teams, NEDs and CEOs across mid-sized and high-growth organisations.

This role provides an exceptional opportunity to learn Mid-Market or Enterprise sales from the inside, gaining exposure to pipeline generation, senior relationship building, deal progression, and consultative selling at pace. You will not carry your own quota, rather you will support the Director, Mid-Market in achieving theirs, in turn benefiting from the exposure and experience this role offers.

You will combine excellent organisation, attention to detail, and commercial curiosity with strong interpersonal and communication skills, eloquence and etiquette, to help maximise the effectiveness of our Mid-Market/Enterprise sales motion. Over time, this role offers the opportunity to develop into a Mid-Market/Enterprise Account Executive or broader commercial role.

Key Responsibilities

Mid-Market/Enterprise Sales Support and Client Engagement

  • Support the senior sales team in progressing a high volume of Mid-Market/Enterprise opportunities from first meeting through to closed won.
  • Shadow and join client calls with senior executives and governance leaders, capturing key insights, actions, and follow-up requirements.
  • Build strong understanding of client challenges, priorities, and decision-making processes.
  • Support preparation for important client meetings, including research, briefing notes, agendas, and relevant materials.
  • Help ensure every client interaction reflects the quality and professionalism expected when working with senior leaders.

Opportunity Management and Follow Through

  • Own and coordinate follow-up actions after client meetings, ensuring momentum is maintained.
  • Work a busy pipeline daily, prioritising the opportunities most likely to close and chasing the actions that get them signed.
  • Support the creation of follow-up communications, meeting summaries, and relevant client materials.
  • Help track actions, stakeholders, timelines, and next steps across fast-moving Mid-Market or more lengthy Enterprise sales cycles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve organisation, efficiency, and client experience throughout the sales process.

CRM and Commercial Operations

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records, ensuring activity, contacts, opportunities, and next steps are captured.
  • Support pipeline hygiene, reporting, and sales administration.
  • Take ownership of proposal, order form, and contract preparation, driving internal approvals so deals close on time.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Consulting, and Customer teams to ensure smooth progression of opportunities.

Lead Generation and Pipeline Development

  • Research and build target lists of Mid-Market or Enterprise organisations and their senior stakeholders to create new opportunities.
  • Run outbound activity across email, LinkedIn, and phone to generate qualified meetings for your sales team member.
  • Follow up promptly on inbound enquiries and marketing leads, qualifying them and booking them into the diary.
  • Develop knowledge of Board Intelligence’s market, products, and value proposition.

Required Experience

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with CRM systems or sales tools is beneficial.
  • Interest in developing a career in Mid-Market/Enetrprise sales, consulting, or strategic client relationships.
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders or professional environments is desirable.

Skills and Attributes

  • Gravitas and professionalism: Comfortable interacting with senior executives and representing Board Intelligence in high-profile client conversations.
  • Exceptional organisation: Able to manage details, follow-ups, and competing priorities with precision.
  • Pace and resilience: Comfortable working at volume, juggling many live opportunities at once without dropping detail.
  • Commercial curiosity: Interested in understanding how organisations make decisions and how value is created.
  • Strong communication skills: Able to listen carefully, capture insights, and communicate clearly.
  • Relationship focused: Naturally personable and able to build trust quickly.
  • Attention to detail: Takes pride in accuracy and quality.
  • Growth mindset: Hungry to learn, improve, and develop into a future commercial leader.
  • Confidence and initiative: Comfortable asking questions, taking ownership, and proactively solving problems.

What Makes This Role Unique

This is a rare opportunity to learn Mid-Market/Enterprise sales by working directly alongside one of Board Intelligence’s strongest commercial performers.

You will gain exposure to:

  • How senior executives make buying decisions
  • How pipeline is built, qualified, and converted at volume
  • How Mid-Market/Enterprise sales cycles are managed
  • How relationships with Chairs, CEOs, CFOs, and governance leaders are developed
  • How SaaS technology is positioned to mid-sized organisations
  • How trusted partnerships are built at board level

For the right person, this role can become the foundation for a successful career in Mid-Market or Enterprise Sales.
