Job Title: Maintenance & Facilities Enginner

Reporting To: Maintenance & Facilities Engineer Sr

Work Schedule: Onsite – San José, CR

“hands on” environment and focuses on daily plant operations, such as system operations and maintenance. May provide direction to less experienced staff, but do not have formal team management responsibilities. Typically requires some form of certification, apprenticeship, or degree.

This job family is responsible for the engineering and technical operations of the organization and managing or performing research and development. Activities include undertaking research, design, and development activities to improve the organization's products and services; designing, constructing, testing, and operating equipment; ensuring that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in production processes; interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications; developing and testing theories on the properties of materials and ingredients under various conditions; and scientific research or quality testing in a laboratory environment.

Positions in this sub-family are responsible for the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities. Activities also include: planning, budgeting, and scheduling facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs; and overseeing the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facilities expansion.

Overview: Individual contributor that requires broad knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through several years of work experience and vocational or technical education.

Purpose: Delivers on day-to-day objectives.

Qualifications/ Experience: Work requires broad technical knowledge which is typically aquired through (1) a secondary school qualification (a HS diploma, G.E.D., etc. in the US) or basic vocational/technical education in related discipline and (2) a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

Problem Solving: Tasks and problems are sometimes routine and have slightly complicated solutions.

Management & Supervision: May provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within job area. Works under moderate or limited supervision.
