Job Description:

The Operations Management Trainee is enrolled in a comprehensive training program focused on experiencing and learning the various areas of UPS Operations (e.g., Preload, Reload, Hub, driving roles, etc.). He/She receives training and gains proficiency while assisting supervisors and managers in the various operational settings. This position is assigned a project/assignment following the completion of the training program.

Required degree/experience:

• Graduate from a recognized University Degree Level Program
• Work Expereince not mandatory
• Must be proficient in English
• Willingness to accept an 18- month contract employee which can be extended upto maximum 24 months for external Candidate.

Must-Have Requirements

Approximately 3–5 years of practical experience in one or more of the following areas:

1. Analytical Skills & Numerical Aptitude (Highest Priority)

• Comfortable working with numbers and enjoys data analysis.
• Understands key metrics such as revenue, profit, growth rates, and market share.
• Proficient in data aggregation and analysis using Excel.
• Capable of identifying challenges and opportunities based on numerical trends.
• Able to grasp both granular data points and broader trends or business impacts.

2. Logical Thinking

• Capable of structuring complex problems.
• Able to formulate hypotheses based on data.
• Skilled at analyzing root causes and developing improvement strategies.
• Focuses not only on "what" is happening, but also "why" it is happening.

3. Business & Management Perspective

• Prioritizes overall optimization over localized (siloed) optimization.
• Considers profitability and growth potential, not just revenue.
• Proactive in understanding market trends and the competitive landscape.
• Able to translate data into actionable insights for management decision-making.

4. Communication Skills

• Capable of explaining analytical findings in a clear, accessible manner.
• Experienced in collaborating across different departments.
• Able to work effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management, sales, and operations teams.
• Strong business communication skills in both Japanese and English.

5. Ownership & Execution

• Proactive in identifying issues rather than waiting for instructions.
• Capable of working independently, even in ambiguous situations.
• Takes personal responsibility for outcomes.
• Adaptable and flexible in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments.

Technical Skills

• Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic data analysis).
• PowerPoint (creating presentations for senior management).
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
• Understanding of digital marketing metrics (e.g., CTR, CVR, open rates).
• Experience using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT) is a plus.
