Demand Generation Manager | Zero Gravity | London-hybrid | £45k-£60k plus share options
Talent is everywhere. Opportunity is not. Help Zero Gravity reach every school that could change that.
Who Zero Gravity are
Zero Gravity is a tech platform connecting students from low-income backgrounds to university and career opportunities.
Its programme is free for students, forever, and members are 2.3 times more likely to get into a top university. Over 23,000 students have been supported to date.
In April 2026 Zero Gravity launched an AI tutor that coaches students using the Socratic method rather than handing over answers. Early engagement and attainment results have been strong, and the company has since won a government contract to scale the tutor across the UK. Zero Gravity is a Certified B Corp, holds ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus, and has been covered by the BBC, The Times and The Guardian.
EQL Tech is Zero Gravity's exclusive recruitment partner for this search. All applications and enquiries for this role are handled by EQL Tech on Zero Gravity's behalf.
Why you will want this role
- A product that works. Schools that try it tend to want more of it, and a government contract is already behind it. You are marketing something you can believe in.
- A blank page, and the freedom to fill it. Marketing is being built from nothing. You choose the strategy and the channels, you decide what gets cut, and what you build, you keep.
- An audience worth the effort. Teachers and school leaders are not typical B2B buyers, so the playbook is yours to write. That makes it a genuinely interesting problem.
- Speed. A small test-and-expand budget and AI tools mean you can go from idea to live faster than a normal marketing team could, and see the results quickly.
- Strong rewards. £45k to £60k depending on experience, plus share options.
The role
Zero Gravity has a product that works. Now it needs someone to build the engine that gets it in front of the schools that have not found it yet. Today the growth and sales team are doing manual outreach, and you will turn that into a repeatable demand engine, starting at the top of the funnel with schools who have never heard of Zero Gravity.
This is a builder's role, not a campaign-manager role. There is a rough playbook and a small test-and-expand budget of a few thousand pounds a month, not an agency budget, so judgement counts for more than spend. You spot what will work, ship it, read the results honestly, cut what does not, and put more behind what does. Cleverness and curiosity count for more here than a long list of past job titles.
You start with the customer, not a list of channels. That means talking to existing schools and school leaders in depth and letting what you hear shape the plan. It is the part of the job that sets the best people apart here.
Mission comes through in how you write copy and choose channels. Messaging that comes from real conviction reads differently to teachers than messaging optimised for MQLs. We hire on belief in the mission as much as on marketing record.
What you will be doing
- Starting with the customer: talking in depth to existing schools and school leaders, and letting what you hear decide your strategy and channels before you plan a campaign
- Owning the demand engine end to end: setting strategy, running channels and campaigns, and owning pipeline, not just activity metrics
- Building awareness and demand among schools who have never heard of Zero Gravity, as well as converting the ones who have
- Running events: the flagship UK education conferences, plus webinars and roundtables Zero Gravity hosts, from logistics through to follow-up that converts
- Building outbound and account-based campaigns, including email sequences, LinkedIn and direct mail, that move a school leader from first contact to meeting to paying customer
- Showing up where your buyers already are: senior-leader networks, teacher communities and the education press
- Turning every win into case studies and quotes that sales actually use
- Diagnosing the funnel properly: finding where sign-ups and pipeline leak, testing fixes, and knowing which lever moves the number
- Using AI to move from idea to live faster than a normal marketing team could
Where you will be
Central London (Old Street), 3+ days a week in the office, including conference and event days.
Interview process
- Informal video discussion with EQL Tech, the recruitment partner running this search
- A task, then a presentation to the Zero Gravity team, where you will explain your thinking
- A values interview with the CEO
How to apply
Submit your CV and answer the short questions on the form. Every application is reviewed by hand.
Requirements
What you will bring
- Evidence of owning pipeline or revenue in B2B marketing, not just activity metrics. We weigh results and thinking over years of experience.
- You start from customer insight: you have run customer or prospect research and changed a plan because of what you learned
- You can explain why you chose a campaign and what you expect it to move, clearly and concisely, in writing and out loud, to people who will challenge it
- Hands-on experience driving leads through events, outbound or account-based campaigns, and multi-channel work
- Comfort with email marketing, automation and nurture at a hands-on level
- Data-driven: you can diagnose why a funnel is leaking, not just report that it is, and you say plainly what is working and what to cut
- Hands-on competence using AI tools for research, analysis and day-to-day work, with something you have actually built or run
- Early-stage go-to-market experience, ideally in a team of roughly 20 to 50 people
- Real belief in the mission: closing the gap between talent and opportunity for young people the system has overlooked. We would love to hear what you have done about it.
- UK-based, with the right to work here without sponsorship
Not from education or EdTech? Please apply. If you have not worked in education, but have built B2B demand from scratch in another sector and care about closing the gap between talent and opportunity, we want to hear from you.
Strong signals, but not requirements
- UK education sector experience, including familiarity with school procurement
- PR or earned media experience
Benefits
Compensation, benefits & culture
- Competitive salary of £45,000-£60,000 per year, depending on experience
- Central London, hybrid (3+ days/week in office)
- Share options - genuine ownership in the business, not a token gesture
- Private healthcare, including dental and mental health support, plus gym discounts
- An annual personal-development allowance to spend on your own growth
- Flexible working around the in-office requirement, with equipment set up so you can do your best work from day one
- Fortnightly team socials on the house, plus bigger quarterly events
- 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays, with extra days off over the Christmas shutdown
Values aren't a poster on the wall here. They are what holds the team, members and partners together as one community, and they show up in how decisions actually get made.
