Mosaic Health is seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Assistant II to join our busy primary care team in Port Charlotte. Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and allergies.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers during exams, treatments, and minor procedures.
• Administer injections and immunizations according to established protocols.
• Perform EKGs and other diagnostic testing as needed.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Accurately document patient information in Athena EHR.
• Schedule appointments, referrals, and follow-up care.
• Verify insurance information and assist with prior authorizations.
• Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and clinical equipment.
• Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and safety standards.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to patients and team members.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience working in a primary care setting strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with: Injections and immunizations EKGs Vital signs Specimen collection Patient intake and rooming
• Experience using Athena (athenahealth) EHR required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification.
• BLS/CPR Certification.
• Experience with chronic disease management and preventive care.
