The Posting

Ready to take the next step? Join The Chimney Lift as an Attraction Supervisor and help create memorable experiences for our guests at Battersea Power Station. You’ll be a positive, approachable presence on the floor, supporting your colleagues, leading by example and helping every visit run smoothly.

This is a hands-on role combining Guest Experience and Guest Operations with the opportunity to lead the attraction as Floor Manager, typically for 2–3 shifts per week when working a full schedule. You’ll also provide extra support across the attraction during our busiest periods. It’s a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills while remaining at the heart of the guest experience.

Responsibilities:

Deliver Memorable Guest Interactions:

  • Welcome guests warmly, share engaging stories and facts about Battersea Power Station, and adapt your approach to different audiences.
  • Guide guests through interactive gallery spaces, talks and presentations with confidence and enthusiasm.
  • Create memorable moments while keeping guests informed, comfortable and safe throughout their visit.

Entry, Ticketing & Guest Flow:

  • Validate tickets, guide entry and queue movements, and support a timely guest journey through each part of the attraction.
  • Assist with safe lift boarding, stair access and accessibility arrangements in line with training and procedures.
  • Keep an eye on timings, capacities and guest needs, responding calmly to delays or changes.

Retail, Photography & Bar Operations:

  • Operate tills, process transactions and promote products and experiences confidently.
  • Support retail, photography and bar service, following relevant sales, food hygiene and safety procedures.
  • Keep all guest-facing and commercial spaces clean, organised, well stocked and ready for service.

Floor Management:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the attraction during designated Floor Manager shifts.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring the attraction is safe, prepared and ready to welcome guests.
  • Lead the team throughout the shift, coordinating positions, rotations and breaks and maintaining high standards of service.
  • Manage guest flow, queues and operating timings, making decisions to keep the attraction running safely and smoothly.
  • Handle guest concerns, operational challenges and incidents confidently, following the attraction’s procedures.
  • Complete operational checks, relevant reports and shift handovers.

Support the Team & Busy Periods:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating strong service standards, safe working practices and a positive attitude.
  • Offer informal coaching, encouragement and practical guidance, and support new colleagues on shift.
  • Provide additional on-floor support during high-demand days, school holidays, events and other peak periods, moving to the areas where you can make the greatest difference.
  • Share ideas, guest feedback and operational improvements with the wider team.

Requirements

  • A friendly, confident approach and excellent communication skills with guests and colleagues.
  • Good judgement, strong situational awareness and a commitment to guest safety, accessibility and service standards.
  • Confidence to lead a shift, make practical decisions and remain calm under pressure.
  • A hands-on, reliable and flexible approach, with willingness to work across Experience, Operations and commercial roles.
  • An interest in learning and developing leadership skills; previous supervisory experience is welcome but not essential.
  • Availability for evenings, bank holidays and the usual pattern of three weekends in four, subject to shifts being offered.
  • Previous experience in visitor attractions, hospitality, retail, events or a guest-facing environment is an advantage.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Benefits

  • Flexible shift patterns, subject to operational requirements
  • Staff discounts across Battersea Power Station
  • Free or discounted food during shifts
  • Company events and social activities
