The Posting
Board Intelligence is a technology and advisory firm on a mission to make boards more effective, and through them, build better businesses and benefit society.
Over twenty years we have established ourselves as the market leader in governance and board effectiveness, trusted by more than 80,000 directors, executives, and governance professionals globally, including across the Fortune 500, FTSE 100, and OMX 30. That trust has been earned through depth of insight, rigorous advisory work, and a track record that newer entrants simply cannot replicate.
We have invested in applied AI since 2020, well ahead of the market, and that early conviction has paid off. Our AI-powered platform and smart board advisor give us a competitive advantage that is widening, not narrowing. In 2024, K1 Investment Management, the leading B2B Enterprise SaaS investor, backed us to accelerate that position further. We are now growing fast, with a proven commercial model spanning both mid-market and enterprise, and a product suite that has become a necessary addition in high-stakes board environments.
The people joining us now will shape how we scale. We are deliberate about how we do that. Our founders and leadership team are deeply invested in keeping the culture that got us here: thoughtful, high calibre, and genuinely human. Ambition and balance are not in competition at Board Intelligence.
If you want to work at the intersection of AI and governance, on problems that matter at the highest level, this is a strong place to be.
Our Mission
We unleash the potential of organisations through the science of board effectiveness, building better businesses and benefitting society.
The Role
AI is at the centre of what Board Intelligence builds. We are developing products that have not been built before in our market, helping boards and leaders work better with AI tools designed for the boardroom.
We are looking for a Product Engineer to help build new AI-powered products and grow existing ones. You will work across the full stack and own problems end to end, from understanding what clients need to designing the system and shipping it. It is a high-growth environment with plenty of energy and positive pressure.
We are a Claude Code shop, with access and generous usage from your first day. We are strongly pro-AI, and we expect engineers to pair it with solid fundamentals.
Whilst we aren't fully remote, we are flexible on office presence and can consider hybrid approaches of 2-4 days per month onsite in London.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, build and ship features across the full stack for our AI-powered products, both new and existing
- Work with clients and product colleagues to understand needs and design the right solutions
- Own the technical design of complex parts of the system, making architecture decisions that will scale
- Build with AI tools such as Claude Code every day, applying the engineering judgement that keeps quality high
- Balance speed with the security, reliability and data protection our enterprise clients expect
- Contribute to how we work as an engineering team, including code review and sharing knowledge
Person Specification
We are looking for a product-minded engineer who has owned hard problems, is comfortable being client-facing and designing solutions end to end, and who understands what it takes to build for enterprise clients.
Required Skills and Experience
- Upper mid-level to senior professional software engineering experience.
- Full-stack experience, and a willingness to build whatever the problem needs
- Strong TypeScript, plus experience with a backend language such as Java or C#
- System design experience, ideally as the go-to architect for a complex system
- You already build with AI coding tools such as Claude Code as part of how you work
- Experience discovering client needs and turning them into well-designed solutions
- Experience owning problems end to end, balanced with an understanding of what enterprise clients need
- Fluent written and spoken English
Nice to haves
- Experience building LLM-powered features in production
- Experience building software for enterprise clients, ideally in regulated industries
What good looks like in this role
- After three months: you know our products, clients and codebase, and you are shipping features
- After six months: you own significant features end to end and are trusted on technical design decisions
- After twelve months: you are a go-to engineer for complex parts of our system and are shaping the direction of our AI products

We keep our structure flat. We work at pace in an agile, nimble environment where good ideas don’t wait for permission. If you spot something that could work better, we encourage you to say so. If you want to run with an idea, we’ll back you to do it.
We work with people who take pride in their output, back their team through the hard parts, and leave things better than they found them.

Once you apply, our Talent team will review your application. If there’s a fit, they’ll be in touch to discuss the role and next steps.
How We Use AI in Our Hiring
We use AI responsibly, both in the software we build for governance teams and in how we hire. Our Talent team may use AI to support application review, CV analysis, or identifying areas that need further verification.
But hiring decisions are made by people. AI surfaces signals; people make the call on whether to progress a candidate or extend an offer.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We’re an equal opportunities employer. We’re building a team that works because it reflects a breadth of experience, background, and perspective.
