Are you looking for a sales marketing executive role in a fast-growing business where people are at the heart of everything we do?

Would you like to work within a socially conscious organisation that is making a real impact in the education sector?

The company

The Key is the country’s most trusted provider of knowledge and know-how to education leaders determined to make a difference. We provide authoritative, up-to-the-minute sector intelligence, tools, services and resources that give leaders the knowledge to act.

The role

The Senior Marketing Executive (Acquisition) is responsible for planning and delivering high-impact marketing campaigns that drive new school acquisition across The Key. With significant product evolution ahead, this role is dedicated solely to growing our new business footprint.

This role owns the demand gen engine for new business — translating commercial priorities into clear, compelling and well-executed activity across core performance channels.

As part of the Schools Marketing team, you’ll also work closely with Group Marketing, Product and Content teams. You will ensure campaigns are insight-led, commercially effective and tailored to win new customers.

This is a strategic role that combines campaign planning with delivery oversight, ensuring campaigns contribute meaningfully to growth while reinforcing trust in the brand.

Role responsibilities

Campaign strategy & planning

  • Own the planning and delivery of acquisition campaigns across The Key
  • Translate commercial priorities into clear campaign roadmaps, briefs and sequencing
  • Develop new messaging strategies to effectively market an evolving product to non-member/whitespace audiences
  • Identify opportunities to test, learn and evolve campaign approaches over time

Campaign delivery & optimisation

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of campaigns across core channels, ensuring messaging resonates with our target audience
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered to a high standard and in line with brand guidelines
  • Monitor performance and optimise campaign activity using insight and data
  • Support the delivery of go-to-market strategies for new revenue lines and adjacencies

Commercial collaboration

  • Partner closely with inside sales to align campaigns with targeting, sequencing and handoffs, ensuring our conversion journeys are leveraging a combined campaign approach
  • Collaborate with product and content teams to ensure campaigns clearly communicate product value and reflect deep audience understanding

Performance & ways of working

  • Own campaign reporting and insights, connecting activity to commercial outcomes
  • Establish clear, repeatable ways of working for campaign planning, delivery and optimisation
  • Act as a senior campaign specialist within the marketing team, supporting best practice and consistency

Requirements

The ideal person

Must have:

  • 2+ years experience delivering B2B marketing campaigns with commercial accountability
  • Strong understanding of the customer lifecycle and performance marketing
  • A high level of creativity in campaign thinking, with excellent copywriting skills and proven ability to deliver quality execution
  • Proven ability to plan, deliver and optimise campaigns across multiple channels
  • Strong judgement, prioritisation and delivery focus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and work collaboratively to secure cross-functional buy-in

Nice to have:

  • Education Sector Knowledge: Prior understanding of the UK education landscape, school structures and leadership roles.
  • Subscription & SaaS Sales: Previous experience selling SaaS platforms, membership subscriptions or recurring support services.
  • Marketing Alignment Experience: Practical background working alongside marketing teams on joint campaigns and lead management.
  • CRM System Experience: Practical proficiency with Salesforce and/or HubSpot platforms.
