Job Description: About Us

We are a leading global media agency, shaping the future of content, advertising, and audience engagement across platforms. Our product organization powers innovative solutions for clients worldwide, leveraging data, technology, and creativity.

Role Overview

As a Senior UI/UX Designer for Dentsu, you will shape how users interact with AI-powered workflows and agent systems. This hands-on role focuses on designing conversational interfaces, agentic experiences, and self-service analytics tools that make complex AI behavior intuitive and trustworthy. You will work closely with AI engineers and data scientists to translate technical capabilities into effective end-user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • AI Product Experience Design: Design end-to-end experiences for client-facing AI agent products, including conversational flows, agent handoffs, and multi-step automated workflows.
  • AI Interaction Patterns: Define patterns for uncertainty and confidence communication, error and fallback states, latency handling, and human-in-the-loop moments.
  • Conversational & Analytics Design: Create conversational interfaces and self-service analytics experiences that make complex data science outputs, including MMM, forecasting, and incrementality, accessible to non-technical users.
  • Design Systems: Create and maintain reusable AI interaction components that accelerate future product deployments.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with AI engineers to understand system capabilities and constraints, ensuring designs are feasible, resilient, and accurately represent model behavior.
  • Research & Validation: Lead discovery and user research with client stakeholders to validate concepts, identify friction, and inform the product roadmap.
  • Prototyping: Produce high-fidelity prototypes to test agent experiences before engineering investment.
  • Accessibility: Champion WCAG 2.2 AA standards, including screen-reader compatibility, keyboard navigation, and accessible handling of streaming and dynamic AI content.
  • Standards & Documentation: Establish UX standards, documentation, and design rationale records for the AI product portfolio.
  • Global Collaboration: Work effectively with distributed teams, including offshore engineering, across regions and time zones.

Requirements

Must Have

  • 5+ years of UI/UX design experience, supported by a portfolio demonstrating shipped, complex digital products.
  • Strong command of interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
  • Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, such as Figma.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present design rationale to executives, engineers, and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and own design decisions end to end.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and changing technical constraints.

Nice to Have

  • Experience designing LLM-based products, including chatbots, copilots, or agent workflows.
  • Familiarity with LLM concepts such as prompting, RAG, tool use, and model limitations.
  • Background in media, advertising, or marketing technology.
  • Experience designing analytics or business intelligence experiences, including dashboards and self-service data exploration.
  • Experience contributing to or maintaining a design system at scale.
  • Accessibility certification, such as IAAP CPACC or WAS, or experience conducting accessibility audits and assistive technology testing.
  • Experience designing asynchronous, event-driven, or streaming interfaces.

What We Value

  • User-first thinking and empathy for users navigating AI uncertainty.
  • Attention to detail in interaction design and accessibility.
  • Curiosity about how AI systems behave and how to design around their limitations.
  • Ownership and accountability for design decisions and their impact.
  • Strong communication and the ability to influence across disciplines.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Collaboration across distributed teams and time zones.
  • Passion for building trustworthy AI experiences that users understand and trust.
