The Posting

Job Location:

Avani+ Lanexang Vientiane Hotel

At Avani, we’re all about finding that perfect balance — between cool and kind, design and function, service and privacy. We’ve built our hotels and resorts around this philosophy: vibrant social spaces that vibe with the day, stylish rooms that simply work, and honest, locally inspired food. We embrace an upbeat service culture that genuinely respects the art of hospitality.

With a growing portfolio across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and Australia, Avani is a brand on the move. If you take real pride in the little things — and believe that a warm welcome and a genuine smile make all the difference — you’ll fit right in here.

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the hotel's sales strategy and driving revenue growth across all market segments, including corporate, government, MICE, leisure, wholesale, and events. The role focuses on maximizing hotel revenues, increasing market share, developing key client relationships, and ensuring the achievement of budgeted sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the hotel's annual sales and business development strategy.
  • Achieve budgeted room revenue, banquet revenue, and other revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market segments to drive hotel performance.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and competitor benchmarking.
  • Work closely with Revenue Management to optimize pricing and distribution strategies.

Business Development

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, government agencies, travel partners, event organizers, and key stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular sales calls, client visits, networking events, and business presentations.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to maximize profitability.
  • Lead prospecting activities to acquire new accounts and grow market share.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Sales team to achieve individual and department objectives.
  • Monitor sales productivity and provide ongoing guidance and performance feedback.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and results.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings and business reviews.

Market Positioning & Brand Representation

  • Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, sales missions, and networking activities.
  • Ensure brand standards and sales practices are consistently implemented.
  • Maintain strong visibility within the local business community and hospitality industry.

Forecasting & Reporting

  • Prepare annual sales plans, budgets, and monthly forecasts.
  • Monitor business trends and provide accurate revenue projections.
  • Analyze production reports and market intelligence to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Present regular performance updates to the General Manager and Ownership.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Marketing, Revenue Management, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure alignment of commercial strategies.

  • Support hotel opening, repositioning, and special projects as required.
