Associate Director of Sales, Groups & Events

As Associate Director of Sales, Groups & Events at La Samanna, A Belmond Hotel, Saint Martin, you will oversee the organization and coordination of groups and events. You will ensure an exceptional guest experience, from contract signing through to guest departure. Working closely with the Area Director of Sales, you will support the team, optimize sales processes, and foster effective collaboration across departments. Key Responsibilities: Groups & Events

• Lead the planning and servicing of contracted groups and events at La Samanna, from sales handover through execution and post-event follow-up.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and event planners throughout the planning process.
• Coordinate all operational requirements, including accommodation, food & beverage, meeting spaces, private events, transportation, activities, entertainment and other program elements.
• Manage site inspections and planning visits for confirmed groups and events.
• Anticipate client requirements and identify potential challenges in advance, ensuring proactive solutions and a consistently high level of service.
• Ensure all group and event commitments are delivered in accordance with contractual agreements and the standards expected of La Samanna and Belmond.

Sales & Commercial Support

• Act as a key support to the Area Director of Sales in the day-to-day management of the Sales function.
• Assist with preparation of weekly, monthly and annual sales reports, forecasts, presentations and commercial updates.
• Support the implementation and follow-up of sales strategies, action plans and commercial initiatives.
• Assist with contracts, proposals and other sales-related documentation when required.
• Support the Area Director of Sales with the leadership and day-to-day management of the Sales team.

Requirements

• Previous experience in luxury hospitality, preferably within a five-star resort or hotel environment.
• Strong professional experience in event planning and group servicing, with demonstrated responsibility for complex events and high-end clientele.
• Strong understanding of luxury service standards and the expectations of high-end leisure, group and event clients.
• Experience preparing BEOs, group resumes, reports, presentations and other commercial documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English is required; French and/or additional languages would be an advantage.
