The Posting

About the company

Our client is an investment firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the full investment process for a small set of private technology companies, from building sourcing relationships through analysis, modelling and written recommendations. Work side by side with senior leadership in a small, fast-moving team and contribute to the standards used to evaluate and manage risk.

What you'll do

  • Follow a narrow group of private technology companies and develop a clear point of view on each opportunity.
  • Build and maintain relationships with outside fund managers who bring deals, and introduce new partners to the firm.
  • Lead financial and commercial diligence on prospective investments, including company performance, ownership structure, deal terms and likely paths to liquidity.
  • Create returns models covering expected, downside and stressed scenarios.
  • Prepare written investment recommendations and present them to senior leaders and the risk committee.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and help refine internal risk practices and analytical tooling.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Prior experience in technology-focused investment banking at a leading bank or boutique, or in later-stage investing at a venture, growth equity or software buyout fund.
  • Ability to perform credit and equity analysis on early-stage and established private companies.
  • Hands-on experience evaluating large, late-stage technology transactions as they happen.
  • Familiarity with capital-intensive frontier technology sectors.
  • Working knowledge of structuring venture investments, reviewing ownership tables and understanding fund manager economics.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including returns calculations and stress testing.
  • Roughly 4 to 8 years of relevant experience.
  • US citizenship and the ability to work remotely in the United States.
  • Analytical rigor, initiative and comfort owning a deal from start to finish.
