The Posting

About the company

Our client is a law firm.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Handle litigation matters from early filings through trial, working side by side with senior partners on complex multi-plaintiff cases. The work blends courtroom and deposition advocacy with docket oversight, settlement discussions and guidance of less experienced lawyers.

What you'll do

  • Conduct depositions, appear at hearings and mediations, and help prepare and try cases with a partner.
  • Prepare and oversee discovery requests, motions, pleadings and correspondence.
  • Oversee a geographically broad caseload of active group-based employment claims.
  • Contribute to settlement talks and mediation sessions.
  • Coach junior lawyers and the briefing group.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Roughly 5 to 15 years of litigation practice with substantial courtroom and deposition experience.
  • A history of handling demanding, high-stakes witness examinations, including those of company designees, experts, attorneys and senior executives.
  • Experience presenting oral argument on significant case-deciding motions.
  • Hands-on involvement in building the factual record of a contested case, including pursuing document production through motion practice and conducting inquiries that affected case strategy.
  • Trial experience examining and cross-examining witnesses.
  • Background in multi-party representative litigation, on either side.
  • A law degree from an accredited school and an active license in good standing.
  • Polished, confident communication in person, as partners place real weight on interview presence.
  • A sincere commitment to advocating for employees.
  • Located in Houston, TX or ready to relocate, and able to work on-site full time.

Bonus points

  • Prior work at a plaintiff-side employment firm.
  • Defense-side experience in pay-practice matters, with openness to moving to the claimant side.
  • Familiarity with federal and state pay and overtime law.
  • Texas bar admission.
