Paid Research Study in Los Angeles - $200 per Session

About the study

Mindrift is running an in-person data collection study on how people perform everyday household tasks, like cooking or tackling a DIY project. We're inviting adults in the Los Angeles area to take part in study sessions at our locations in San Marino or Mid-City Los Angeles. Participation is voluntary and per session. You choose which sessions to sign up for, and you can decline any session or any individual task without penalty.

What participation involves

• Take part in a study session (up to 8 hours, with breaks) at one of our study locations.
• Carry out everyday household tasks, such as cooking or simple DIY and home-improvement projects, using your own approach. We're studying how people naturally do these things, so there's no single right way.
• Wear study recording equipment, including a head-mounted camera, while you complete the tasks.
• Our study team will explain the goal of each task and the study setup. How you complete it is up to you.
• Share your perspective on each task, such as what was easy or difficult and why.

Who can take part

• Adults 18+ who can travel to San Marino or Mid-City Los Angeles.
• Sessions are offered at a range of times, including mornings, evenings and weekends. You pick the session(s) that work for you.
• Sessions involve standing or walking for extended periods (with breaks), lifting items up to 25 lbs, and bending, kneeling and reaching overhead. Please consider this when deciding whether to take part.
• Comfortable using both hands for cooking and DIY tasks.
• Comfortable communicating and following instructions in English.

Well suited to anyone interested in an occasional paid research study.

Participant compensation

$200 for a full session or $100 for a half session, paid to your Mindrift account after the session. You can sign up for more than one session, but there's no minimum or ongoing commitment.
