The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as an early infrastructure hire, owning cloud environments and delivery pipelines for a growing technical team. Work closely with the existing infrastructure engineer to strengthen current systems and deliver new projects as the organization scales.

What you'll do

• Own and extend the cloud footprint, including compute, networking, access management, storage and observability.
• Keep infrastructure reproducible and reviewable through infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• Run CI/CD pipelines end to end, improving reliability, speed and developer experience.
• Work alongside the existing infrastructure engineer to execute on current architecture and remove blockers for engineering and research teams.
• Keep systems healthy through monitoring and incident handling, while managing spend and tightening security across container orchestration environments.
• Take on special projects such as new services, environments and tooling as the team grows.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Around 7 years of infrastructure engineering experience.
• Deep, recent cloud experience running production workloads.
• Strong ownership of infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD.
• Background at a company with a very high engineering bar or a fast-moving startup.
• Solid engineering fundamentals and the ability to write and ship production code.
• Currently based in the Bay Area.

Bonus points

• Experience with machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience in research-heavy environments or labs.
• Electrical or mechanical engineering background.

• Base salary: USD 200,000 to 300,000 per year
