The Posting

The purpose of this role is to assist in the development and integration of campaign platform technologies.

Job Description:

Day in life: Your morning starts with the build tracker and a journey design by your colleagues. You spend the first couple of hours in the AJO email designer, assembling a welcome message from an approved template, wiring in the personalisation tokens listed in the spec, and fixing the padding that collapses in Outlook. Before lunch you push the journey into the dev sandbox, set up four test profiles, and run through the QA checklist — every link, every fallback value, every render. Two things fail, so you screenshot them, log the defects, and flag one to the mid-level consultant because you can't tell whether it's your build or the underlying schema. In the afternoon you sit in on a client working session, mostly listening and writing notes, then update the build documentation so the design and what actually exists match. You finish by reading the latest AJO release notes because your certification exam is in three weeks.

Does:

  • Builds journeys and campaigns in AJO from a design produced by someone else
  • Authors email, SMS and push content using the Journey Optimizer designers, templates and content fragments
  • Applies personalisation using profile attributes and helper functions
  • Executes test plans: proofs, test profiles, dry runs, link and render checks
  • Logs defects, documents what was built, keeps the build tracker current
  • Attends client sessions to take notes and learn the domain.

Needs:

  • Working knowledge of the AJO canvas: journey vs campaign, events, conditions, wait, split, actions
  • HTML/CSS for email, enough to fix a broken template rather than only use one
  • Understands what an XDM schema, dataset, audience and real-time profile are — can navigate AEP read-only
  • Careful, checklist-driven, comfortable saying "I don't know".
