Senior Software Engineer, Infrastructure

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the application-level code that operates a fleet of long-running cloud environments, splitting time between backend development and infrastructure work. Join a small, high-output team tackling a problem with few established patterns, shipping on a weekly cadence.

What you'll do

• Build application services that provision, update, monitor and secure long-running virtual machines and containers.
• Help the fleet of environments scale many times over in a short period.
• Create dependable internal building blocks for asynchronous messaging and job processing that product engineers can use.
• Evolve infrastructure-as-code practices and set conventions other engineers follow.
• Troubleshoot operating system, networking, storage and access-control issues in production.
• Collaborate in a small, cross-functional team with high ownership and quick delivery cycles.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Built or contributed to core infrastructure at an early-stage startup in the AI space.
• Currently writes production application code as a software engineer, rather than working purely in DevOps or SRE.
• Expertise with infrastructure-as-code tooling and containerized workloads.
• Deep experience with a major cloud provider.
• Clear communication skills in English.
• Based in North America or Western Europe.

Bonus points

• Experience managing isolated per-customer environments at scale.
• Founder or founding engineer experience.
